18's are fine, i have them on my car....the only problem is that you cant make a full right or left turn because the insides of the tires rub the fender wall...but you get use to it after a while...the ride is just like 17's.....
Just so you know, you will accelerate slower with 18's and your speedometer will be even more inaccurate than it is stock.
no

Don't get 18's!! They will make your slower, I only see 18's on show cars and "rice" cars on the street.
Hey bro don't listen to those guys. If you want 18" then go with 18". I have a homie that doesn't drive on anything thats smaller than 17". He's boosted with Drag 3 turbo so accelerating slower won't make a difference to him. Just make sure you get the right offset. I think it's 45mm.

no, i think it's the other way it's 35mm for 18's.
i think they'll look good but ONLY with like a 3" drop ;)
go for it if you want to man!

This is not necessarily true. If you get the correct tire size to go with the 18" wheels then your speedo will NOT be off. With 18's you need to get 205/35 tires.

uhhh, i think he meant that the weight of an 18" wheel is heavier, therefore it will make it slower at accelerating. ;)

I was responding to the part about his speedo being off, not about the part where he referred to accelerating slower. Accelerating more slowly will, of course, always happen with larger wheels.

oh...

it's not just the weight, but it's the size also, more rotational mass to turn, so the car will be slower
will there be rubbing on 17s? or just on the 18s? and does it make a diff if it is lowered or not?
i rock 17s but race with 15s, more rubbing with 18s, i suggest you get coilovers and lower it to the correct setting and then it wont rub, if it does, raise it.
so if i raise my car it wont rub on the wheel well right?? what about on turns??
im riding on 18's and riding on coilovers...mind don't rub while driving but only on full turns since its bigger and hits the wheel well, my offset is +40...u should go with something higher...i think someone said 35, but wouldn't that make the wheel stick out of the fender more? you would want it to be within the wheel well...

also obviously my car accel. slower.. and also my speedo is off about 5mph, with 215/35 size tires
18's and up are for SUV's, trucks, and exotic cars. Don't ruin your car with 18's, it's too much to worry about and it doesn't look right on a compact car. Thats my opinion.

If they don't look right on compact car, why do most cars entered in shows now rollin on 17+ rims?
17s are ok but 18s are just too much. Who cares about show cars, were talking about on the street. My point is 18s aren't at all practical.
save the 18's for ur GS400 i dont give a fuck 16's are best combination of handling and visual appeal
at least thats what i think
