My steering is heavy and the EPS light is on does anybody know what can cause this and any possible solution.... faulty sensor? or faulty motor?

The dash has a switch that you can adjust the heaviness of the steering?

PLEASE Help.

first of all, we need to know where you are located so we know which 99 accord you're talking about. they differ in various regions.

second, it could be a faulty power steering pump...or belt.

I would assume that he's got the 6th gen JDM version as the USDM version doesn't have an "SIR" trim package.

canada and europe have sir versions also, i think.

never in my life have I heard of or seen any SIR accords in canada.. only SIR's i've heard of are the Civic SIRs that I drool over...

Its a Japan domestic market SIR Accord wagon H23A DOHC vtec

the EPS light stands for Electric power steering... I am in New Zealand

There is no belt and no pump attached to the engine

you have a repair manual on your car you can refer to for troubleshooting?

i was wondering if you sorted the problem with your power steering?
im having the same problem with the same car (im in nz too)
i cont have any manual from the dealer,and everything else i have isnt in english!
local mechanic tells me he will need my car for a few days to try and find out what the problem is.bugger that,im not paying him hundreds of $$$ for him to pull my car apart and still not know what is wrong!

i was hoping you might be able to help,if you have fixed yours

ps, this happened when i first got the car - power steering went very hard and the eps light came on but then it seemed to fix itself later the same day.this time it has stayed like this all weekend,and it sux:mad lol
