Are there any gains to be made with an ex header on the lx? The lx has 4-1 headers, while the ex has 4-2-1 headers.

the lx has an exhuast manifold and the ex has a cast iron 4-2-1 header (we only have one). thats what helps make the additional 15hp over the non vtec f22 accords. of course the vtec is responsible for the majority of the additional hp, but u will get a slight mid to high gain. maybe like 5hp peak. if u can get em cheap its worth it. especially if u already have a CAI and full cat-back exhuast.
actually the 4th gens didnt come with vtec. the ex headers will be a definite gain on an lx like VXCL said. the things that make an lx different from the ex in 4th gens performance-wise (under the hood) are

header
cam shaft
cam sprocket
muffler
dual stage intake

you should feel a difference if u swap out the ex header for your lx one. good luck. you can search for more info about it. some ppl have done it on HS. good luck
my bad, i meant to say "header". When i said headers i meant that the type of header on it.....*trying to make me not look some dumb:D * Thanks for the help
Aldo does anyone know if it will bolt right up to the lx downpipe?
It will not bolt to the Dx,Lx downpipe because it has a dual outlet. Need the downpipe also. I'm looking for one now. My cast one cracked. Wrecking yards don't want to pull it off the engines.
I didn't know that stuff about the different cams, sprockets, intake, thanks for the info.
damn why couldnt they just make the engines the same.....sheesh
