My driver side window has been going up and down intermittently lately. Today, it stopped halfway down and won't go up or down. Is this a common thing for the older window motors? Are they easy to replace for the do it your selfer? I've never done one before, let alone disassemble the door. Any input would be helpful. I was thinking of a used one from a wreck....

Thanks Tim

Well did you engine completely die or is it struggling? Either way you will have to take the door panel off, get in there and you will see the rail system which the window uses for going up n down. You need to unscrew the glass and take it out. Then you will need to take the whole rail system including the motor out and get a new one. The installation is pretty simple as well. You just need to remember in which position the motor was in as well as the rail system, which shouldn’t be a problem. Screw the glass in and put the door panel back on.

the motor sometimes works and sometimes not. it has always come back to life and works fine when it works. It doesn't struggle when it goes up and down at all. Thanks for the, I'll look into a new motor (or replacement at least)
