91 accord ex-r stock stereo

I just bought a 91 accord wagon ex-r with a stock stereo and it powers up/lights up but no sound. I checked all the connections and fuses and everything looks good but no sound. I started to disassemble the dash to try and get the unit out but it looks like I have to take apart half the car to get at it. Is there an easier way ? what exactly is the process for getting it out?

there are some bolts in the back of it..3 of them on an ancor...i think u can remove these and u can pull it out..though its kinda hard...
