92-95 coupe front end on 92-95 4dr... is it possible???

i now own a wrecked 92 civic 4dr LX :( ... it has the stock 4dr front end... my idea is since i'm going to replace the front end... why not do a coupe front end.. the fenders and bumper... cause the hood is the same right.. and the headlights are the same but i know the corner lights are different...

I have to replace the hood, bumper and left fender... and the whole front is gonna be painted anyway... so I figure why not do the work now... and that's only cause they make tons of bumpers for the coupes and very little that fit 100% on the 4drs...

come on someone has had this idea... anyone go through with it??? My car goes to the shop on moday (i hope...) for about 2/3 weeks...

If you're buying these parts from anywhere other than a junkyard... YOU're best bet is to go with AFTERMARKET. Especially if your bodyshop is buying the parts, they normally rape you on prices.

If you are dead set on doing a conversion, don't do a 4 door to a 2 door. It looks the same. Do a celica front end conversion, or something... then again, that's pretty dumb too. (not to rip on anybody that's done it) The aftermarket ones are likely to cost you less, and look better. Pic any 4 door bumper, and get a set of z3 fenders (or at least the lightweight stock looking ones) and then you could list those as a mod, instead of *92-95 stock 2 DOOR FENDERS, etc.
I would love to say i'd get the z3 fenders but I still don't know what i'm gonna do with my car when it's back to 100%... I might sell it or i might keep it.. .If i keep it, it's getting modded like no body's business...

I figure that if i keep a stock look and decide to get rid of it a couple of months down the road I could sell the car as is... not having to worry about aftermarket stuff...

if i do this 4dr to 2dr convert is it just the fenders hood and bumper or do i have to go in deeper.... This is what i need t o know so i can tell my body shop guy and see what he says...

keep the feedback commin...
Well, when you want to actually order the body parts, try www.haprecycling.com

I got an interior part, the dash bezel, from them for $75.

From the dealer, it would have cost $188.

The likelihood of them having the body parts you need in the right color may be slim, but it'll be way cheaper.
i'm not worried about who's paying... lady who hit my car her ins. will be picking up the bill... So i'm going to be saving through my body shop guy with the headlights and corners... i'm doing the projection lights and the clears... which are mods that i can sell to someone else... the front end would be a pain...

the body shop will be getting all new parts but I just need to make sure that all i would need is the fenders, hood, and bumper...

PLEASE can i get a yes/no answer... I'm getting great feedback and appreciate that very much... But i just have to know what i have to change on the car...

The fronts on the 92-95 sedan, coupe, hatch are all the same fit. All the light accessories like signal corners and headlights are exactly the same fit. And the coupe or hatch front bumper pieces bolt right into the 4 door. I have a 4 door, and I took the front piece from a hatch, the bumper from a coupe, and bought aftermarket side skirts to design my car. And everything bolted in.
do you have any picts on ethat just kid kill my doubt... I'm a doubtful person... or if any one can back up that statement...

if i can get a 2nd on that i'm all set and my car will go to the shop on monday... or something...

caman man..they r the same...only f u mean the back one:D
the 2dr/3dr bumper is NOT an exact fit, but it is pretty close(bolts right on you just have to pull at it) and unless someone is looking they will never notice. You still use 4dr corners because you are using 4dr fenders.

well unless someone's looking at it they'll never notice what??? where does it not look right??? and can it be corrected...

The flat spot on the edge of your fender, there is also a flat spot on the bumper where the bumber will meet the fender. They will not line up right on the money but it is close. No you can't correct it.

Just do it, it looks fine no one will ever notice.

The reason why it won't fit correctly or look right is because the sedans have a longer corner lamp than the coupe and hatchback. You would have to either shave back the bumper cover a little for a better fit, or buy new coupe fenders -- which shouldn't be a big deal since you're already planning to do that.

I've actually considered this myself since I have to replace my bumper cover and left fender, and so long as it's the same generation, it should bolt right up. If you plan to bolt a 6th Gen on, there may be slight modifications needed, but I'm not really sure.
