Well, i figured out why my sony cdx-m610 head unit kept on losing my settings and it was because the idiots that put in my head unit did not connect the 12 volt constant and they even went as far as to clip it of the head unit harness. So now i need to do some carefull work and get a wire back on it. My question is where in the area of the stereo location can i tap into for a 12 volt constant? or can i just run the 12 volt constant wire straight to the battery?

Well, you could just tap into the wiring harness of your car for a 12V constant. You could also just run one directly to the battery, but I say just run a wire back to your wiring harness.
