When i try to crank the car it hesitates and i have to give it gas to make it turn over. It cranks up fine when ever i use jump box. does any one know what this could be?

loose connections to the battery, loose starter connections loose ground is most likely

Could be corrosion on the battery terminals.

Sounds like a bad batttery or bad batttery connection.
