I know this is an integra forum but I really need to know where to put my money $$$ I've always wanted a GSr but they are so expensive and this guy is selling his 98 for $11K but I just recently saw a 98 GST eclipse for $9500!! The GSR has only stock in it but GST has 18in rims, up boost for turbos and some kind of intake and a racing spoiler and tight ass system. Its a hard choice but PLEASE I need some help with this one. I need some hard core facts and some opinions to convince myself into a unanomous decision!!!!

i had a 94 gs-r and i beat a few turbo eclipse's. but when you start modding the eclipse just goes into a different league. They rule the streets but there is a downside and it's the trans and the crank. can't remember the year for the crank but it's not all gs0t years. put 1500 into a gs-t and your deep into the 13's i put 1500 into my gs-r and i got 14.6 w/ i/h/e and stock susp.
Personally, I would go with the GST. It is going to be faster and I have always liked the look of them.

Either way you go you will be happy. Both are great cars.

who is selling a 98 GSR for 11,000!?!? How many miles? That sounds like a really good price..

the look is hipmotising(spelling?) it's so curvey a low to the ground. i'd love to have a gs-t or gsx.i'd be happy after about 3-4 grand into the car. They're sweet. dammit i should try to get one.
The only problem I see with the GS-T is that its most likely been driven hard. Other than that $9500 sounds like a great deal with all the things included.
I'd go for the integra... I don't have the money too keep up with the eclipse, especially those are much more prone to problems then the integra. But if you have the cash, and if i had the cash, i would get the gs-t, just b/c it's that much faster!!!
Actually if you look into some consumer reports eclipses have fairly low mainance costs. Similar to integras.

If I can find the article I will let you know.
Every eclipse I've seen, had probs, my friends had a '96, and the turbo was going out, the vavle cover cracked. Another one got his fixed, and it became slower. As it stands right now, I haven't met GST faster than my GSR, I'm not saying that they suck, my friends '94 Civic HB with GSR motor got smoked by one, but I haven't met one that could beat me. But I go by word of mouth, and what I see.

you must not race them too often, i was the same way in my 94 gs-r then one night i raced a black one and was beating him until we hit abouot 90 and he blew past me like i was standing still. my car was running 14.6 consistently at the time, he must have been playing with me at first. They out there go look for them and what's done to your car?

put 600 on a GST and you run 13s
14.7 with 600 bucks in mods... if you want reliability, go with the gs-r, if you want to go amazingly fast but have downtime once in a while, go with the gs-t... thats as simple as anyone can put it...
what ever you do in your life do NOT by an eclipse. My firend had a 99 gst that had the door handle fall off after owning it for less than three weeks. His transmission went out- $2,800, luckily he had a warranty. Also its is so low stock that the front bumber cover is cracked in 2 places. Other than that it is fast as hell
gsr or gst

Well first of all who cares if an eclipse passes you when you are going 90, I think if you beat him all the way until 90, you pretty much proved your point. It's not like everyone races to top speed on the streets. I say screw eclipses because the only reason they are fast is because of their turbo. What would a gs-t be without the turbo, just an rs. Plus their rear end looks pregnant.

like i said, he was probably playing with me!to blow by me the way he did he had to be holding back alot. i've never been passed like that by anything. I've even raced the limited Mustang Bullet and he was passing me all slow and shit and we had our windows down laughing and shit right next to each other, eventually he put about 1 1/2 cars on me but it took a while and he was pushing his mustang. that eclispe i raced had to be running low 13 or high 12's
gsr or gst

yeah I see what you're saying, but if you have a tyurbo, all you have to do is get a boost controller and turn up the boost. Thats probably why he was so fast. In my opinion gsr's are just way cooler but it's your decision.
you dont just crank up the boost.. you have to know the limitations on the stock turbo... its about 15 psi.... stock boost is set at about 10-12 psi... so youre not doing much by getting a boost controller... the thing you need to get is a new turbo, since the stock ones give up at around 6500 rpms
gsr or gst

All I have to say is buy a GSR because all eclipses are gay.

Gay?LMAO, come on bro give them there respect man. if you take 10 tuned GS-R's(turbo) and 10 tuned GSX's and line them up with a viper the GSX's are gonna be most likely to win most of there races, they don't need to rev to 5750 so they get the full effect of there engine, like the gs-r has to to get the full effect of VTEC. The eclipse will always have better bottomend than the GS-R. It just up to the driver to use it the right way cause i have seen sorry drivers loose of the line to GS-R's. Just my .02¢
Well what do you want? Who cares what other people think, buy what you want. If you went to an Eclipse discussion board you would get the same answers, except reversed. If you aren't going to put any money into an integra for sometime because you have to make large payments on it then buy the eclipse. Get what you want man. Otherwise you are just living through someone else's dream.
