I need help. Does anybody know what the exact difference is between the 96-98 civic and the 99-00 civic frontends. I know they're different but anybody I talk to doesn't know the difference. I need to know exactly what I have to do to put a 99 bumper on my 96 HX.

here we go, not only is the front bumper different, but also the fenders, hood, upper grill, and headlights ;)

the fenders, hood and headlights are VERY slightly more aerodynamic.

hope that helps man :)

first off, the 99 front bumper will fit without converting the whole front to the 99 look. you can leave the 98 lights, hood, etc. however, it's a pretty simple conversion if you want to do the whole thing (highly recommended). you'll need to change the hood, fenders, lights, and bumper. i'd also recommend putting on an si grill and lip.

Bumper, grill, headlights, hood, fenders, and radiator support..

You need all those parts to properly perform a 96-98 into 99-00 front conversion..

Whats up Chillin? Would eveything bolt up exactly? Will I have to make any modifications there? I appreciate your help.
pretty straight forward mod. if you know how to take off the parts i listed (if you don't get a helms manual or something) then you'll be fine. the radiator support doesn't need to be changed, so it's just unbolting the old parts and bolting in the new ones. then of course you'll probably want it to get painted. if you're planning on getting a carbon fiber hood just get it when you're redoing the front as it will save you around 100-150 on paint.
