its for my mom's mazda 626 (which is the shittyest car in the world). Well when I press on the brakes the pedal pulsates back and forth and it does it until the car stops. After this thing started I changded pads and flushed the system now the only thing I think might do it is the disks but I dont know if I am right. So if you know whats wrong with this junky car please tell.

One more question, if it is disks can I just buy them from Autozone and put them on or do I need to bring disks down to a shop do get them surfased?

do this...change the rotors...whenever u do new pads always resurface or change the rotor if ur original one is out of specs. and clean and adjust the rear shoes if u have a rear drum setup and den bleed all around. you should be ok den

It stops fine but I dont really feel the brake pedal sometimes because it moves back and forth so much.

My Q:
If I buy new rotors, do I need to resurface them before I put them on? Or can I just put them on and drive?

And what do you think is cheaper buying new rotors and putting them on myself or brining the car to a shop to resurface the rotors?

no, you do not need to resurface new rotors... and i dont know what would be cheaper, but it'll probly be the rotors urself... not to mention that if they're warped too bad the shop will need to replace them anyway

but if you go with new rotors you need to bed them in properly (starting and stopping to get the grooves in the pads to match the rotors) before you go driving off

you sure it isn't the ABS? If not abs, then yank the rotors and have them turned. Should be about $10 each if you pull the rotors yourself.

abs systems are designed to stop the wheels from locking up during a hard stop. When the abs module gets a signal from the wheel speed sensor that a wheel is locking up under braking it sends a signal to the HCU (hydralic control unit) to bleed some brake pressure from the afflicted wheel cylinder or caliper piston. This causes a pulsating feel comming from the brake pedal when applied and also a slight clicking sound may be heard do to the HCU solenoids opening and closing the isolation/dump valves inside the mechanism. It depends on how hard you are pressing on the brakes. A warped rotor may be the cause as well (and in this case you may have a steering wheel that shudders like it saw anna nicole smith naked!) but bfor you buy a new one get the rotor minimum thickness specs and use a digital micrometer to get the acutal specs, and if they are ok to be machined, take them in (cheaper than new rotors.) brakes are a lot more complex than people may think. DONT REPLACE ANY PART OF YOUR BRAKE SYSTEM SIMPLY BECAUSE YOU DONT YET UNDERSTAND HOW ABS WORKS!!!
