If you can feel the car's A/T is not shifting smoothly, especially from 1st to 2nd, what would be it's common cause, short of having the transmission rebuilt? Thanks.

my a/t also didnt shift smoothly from 1st to 2nd. I changed the transmission fluid and it shifted smoother for about a month and now its doing it again. Try changing the transmission fluid first.

how many miles are on the tranny, excessive slipping in lower gears could be a sign that a rebuild may be needed soon.

148k on mine...200k miles is not alot for a honda, as long as its maintained properly.

mine has 63k and the trans is slipping.

I think Honda issued an statement about the 94-96 Accords saying that with the higher mileage vehicles the tranny may begin to shift a bit more harsly. To correct it add a bottle of Lubeguard conditioner to the transmission fluid.

I've read from other forums that tranny additives are bad... real bad. Has any of you tried one?
