A Very Tough Decision!

In your opinion which car would you want to have?

A brand new Accord V-6 or a brand new RSX Type-S?

They are both 200hp if I'm not mistaken.

One is lighter with a stick, and the other is heavier with a automatic.

Prices are different.

 WHAT WOULD YOU PICK???????????!!!!!

Depends on what you're looking for. The RSX is a sports car and the Accord is a family car. My friend has an RSX-S and I have a Accord V6. His car is faster than my car in all ways, not so sure about highway though, it is pretty damn quick still. My Accord on the other hand has so much more room that the RSX that it isn't even funny. The seats are that much more comfortable. I have leather by the way and a coupe, I don't know if that helps much though. So you have to ask yourself what you want because these are two different cars. IMO, I'd go with the Accord a lot more room and it's got some nice power although no stick, it's a lot nicer and if you wait out til the 7th gen 2003s come out they should have a 6spd V6. But since you posted this in an RSX forum you'll get biased opinions. Either way it goes good luck in deciding.

why dont u get a car in the same price range thats just as fast, has alot of room..and will outhandle both....guess im a lil bias...get a lude man..for the love of god..get a lude.Accords are nice but lack power down low..IMO rsx is a damn bettle with fuked up front end...i can smell the flames on that one...those are 2 COMPLETELY different cars...what do u want...luxery...or compact/sport...or PRELUDE...ok im done
Are you kidding? I've beaten a base lude from standstill. I had intake only back then, but i beat him by half a car. The very small, there's less space than the Accord or RSX, but if you want something that handles like a dream, then yes get the lude...
I know I still want one, but the cramped interior is a real turnoff.
if you think your accord could be anywhere near a 5SPEED lude then your racing idiots or you are one...I beat rsx's all the time .by along shot..all are typeS..accords run a slow 16.0 ludes run a 15.1..i agree theres not much head room but i dont see where else its small..
I would have to agree with my fellow ludian. I don't think a v6 coupe could take a 5th gen lude (5sp). However the V6 coupe is very fast. I raced my friend who had a v6 coupe when I had my JRSC auto LS 4 door teg ( teg was heavier by far ), ne ways we were neck in neck. No one pulled on anyone, inches separated the front end. If i had a 2 door or a 5 sp with the JRSC I would have dusted the coupe. So sorry to bust your bubble but you couldn't take a 5 sp lude.
well i own an av6. its kool. its depends on what you want. get the type s if you dont mind it being small. if you want something more comfortable get the accord v6. the accord coupe has the edge on looks though.

i want the rsx-r,still waiting.
the RSX is small compared to the Accord but it is still bigger than the Prelude... plus, it is big enough for me because I am usually the only one in the car. The driving environment in the RSX is very nice... small diameter steering wheel, great shifter, great driver seat, and enough power.

The Accord is big in the inside but it is also big in the outside... too big to give it good handling. My cousin owns an Accord Coupe V6. It is a great car... too bad it isn't available with a manual transmission.
the RSX Type S has it all...performance, luxury, and comfort all in one.
Prelude is the least comfortable of the bunch, RSX-S is the fastest, and the Accord is the roomiest. As for luxury, besides interior room and power seats, the RSX-S and Accord are the same. Prelude looks nice on the outside but butt ugly on the inside, its practically the same layout as the 5th gen prelude. Speed wise, prelude is faster than accord stock but when modded they are very close. Back to topic, with a Accord cpe V6, you have class, you can drive almost anywhere and ppl will respect you 'cause your car is a good attractive middle class car.
Drive any RSX period, to downtown, and ppl, mostly adults will eye you 'cause its a "kid" car imo. Again, like what everybody said, depends on what you are looking for, they cost relatively the same, so it doesn't matter too much, I would be leanin' towards the RSX-S though because its new and the accord is old but nevertheless, the accord coupe looks better than the RSX esthetcially after some modding! Oh and one more thing, the accord will always be looked upon as "higher class" believe it or not 'cause the RSX-S is just another 'teg with a fresher name. Its cool now but in a year, it will be overplayed, over-riced, and over populated.. hehe well so is the accord but just not as much.
In time, they will be all over the street, on every block like the old tegs so if you want some/little uniqueness the accord will be a bit more "rare"

Thanks for the input about the two cars.

Right now I am driving a 95 accord V6 and in the future am looking for something with a little more kick.

I think i am going to have to say that i'll prob. wait until the 7th gen. comes out b/c I like the V6 stick idea.

All i know right now is that Honda and Acura rule the world as far as car making goes, dependible, fast, and stylish!

Thanks again for the comments!

I will soon have a pic of my car up when i finish putting my parts on.

why do u say that if you mod a v6 accord its the same speed as a lude? If u mod a lude is still WAY faster than a accord...And ludes and RSX are the same speed..RSx does make nice gains on mods but IMO they are oogly..Of your choiced i think its wise to wait for the new accord, its gotta be a high 14-low 15 second car to be competative with the altimas/camry's...i heard like 240hp and a 5speed..

RSX's are faster buddy, last time i checked RSXs arent running mid 15 sec 1/4 mile, ofcourse unless its a bad driver

The only reason the last generation of the Integra is over populated is because it has been on sale for 8 years! I doubt the this generation of the RSX will be out for 8 years... I think the current generation of the Accord couple will be more common because the Accord is one of the best selling cars in North America.

WOW...a modded lude beating a stock RSX I couldn't of ever imagined. ANd like it was stated above the lude has the least room of all. Don't think I hate ludes, I absolutely love em, they were my first choice when I was buying. But the big turn off is the space, i mean it handles like a dream...I would say you're better off waiting for the 2003 models and don't limit yourself to only Honda/Acura. Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru and Mazda have their new cars out this year. The 350Z, RX-8, WRX STi, and Evo Lancer.

All more expensive than the Accord, RSX or the Prelude.
Wow! I don't think I've ever see so much posting in the RSX forum! :D
It all depends on what you want in a car. Go test drive all three cars... wait... you wanted a Accord or RSX... Well, go test drive the Prelude too while you are at the Honda dealership. Before I got my RSX, I was considering a Prelude. The biggest thing was how shitty the interior was. From the test drive, the RSX felt faster. Then again I could be wrong, but it felt faster from 0-60. As soon as I got on the freeway though, the RSX for sure was faster there. The damn car takes off from 75-120mph. Main reason I chose the RSX though, was because of the close pricing of both cars. I feel you get so much more with the RSX than the Prelude. Only thing that I liked about the Prelude more was the fact that it handled like a dream. Wait a minute... Accord... not Prelude... you aren't considering a Prelude... Whoops. :p

True, but then again, for a couple extra g's you can get one. A fully loaded Accord V6 EXL is around 26-27k, a RSX is around 24-25, and a lude a lil cheaper around maybe 20-21k. I dunno though....whatever floats your boat.
some RSX Type S buyers might look for something more expensive but I think the bulk of RSX buyers won't. I know I didn't... I did look at the WRX and C-coupe but they were were just a bit too expensive for my taste, so I didn't serious consider them.
if you need more room, then get the V6 all de way, no questions asked! they are nice, good torque, and it's V6!!!
if you want sporty looking, small compact, less luxury, get RSX!
for me, i'll get a V6....
