this is probably what your friend means. the power curve of a supercharger compared to a turbocharger is much flatter. where the turbo charger typically has higher peak hp at the higher rpms, superchargers such as the one by jackson racing peaks at a lower rpm but provides more usable power for daily driving. if you're gonna race and just race, definately go for the turbo. that's my suggestion. either will help you in any gear. although there is that lag that's often associated with the turbo. but once you get past that, the sky's the limit.
