Yeah I went with the 4-2-1 for the main reason that I had an auto instead of a stick, this automatic thing is really starting to bite me in the ass, my whole engine idea were screwed because of it, anywho back to the point. It's a one piece. make sure to get a one piece, two piece suck, you lose power with that. I love the headers, I feel a nice boost with them right around 3000 rpms, my needle tends to jump real high around there and I sometimes start spinning the wheels, so for my LX of course it works and makes a difference, that's the best about it. The only problem I ran into with the DC sports header was that the O2 sensor was at the bottom of the pipe and I didn't think it would reach with tht bottom sensor in the car so I never hooked it back up, I plugged it in to fill the hole, but it's not hooked so now I have my engine light on constantly and am losing gas mileage becvause of this, but I don't have time to get my car on a lift anytime soon to fix it. Although I've asked around and people told me that with a little playing around it should reach, I guess I was just lazy. I get such a nice tone with my Skunk2 Racing exhaust and OBX straight pipe, well good luck and if there are more questions, feel free to ask. Yeah I love the hidden look to! I saw this hilarious ponitiac grand am driving around in the city with exhaust pipes sticking out like 3", I had to pull over because I couldn't stop loaughing, I was afraid I'd hit someone if I kept going. Good luckclique said:You have DC 4-2-1's, yes? I hear 4-2-1's are better for low end power, and that's what I want, more low end. Are yours one piece or two piece? Are you satisfied with them? I was looking into DC 4-2-1's myself, so any help would be appreciated![]()
Ok, the install I did myself with the help of my friend Ken (props to him) who works at a tire place, so a lift was readily avaiable. This IS A BIG HELP! He runs a 92' Civic Hatch, so nice! lol and who the install is easy, just lots of unbolting and bolting back on, nothing to dificult, your also better off with air tools! ONCE AGAIN I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO FIND A FRIEND THAT WORKS AT A PLACE WITH A LIFT AND AIR TOOLS, makes it so much easier. If you got these to access then it should only take you like and hour hour and a half, if you have to get under the car, with regular wrenches and what not then your looking at a long long job. The only pain we had was with the heat shield on the headers at first, some bolts are hard to reach to, but you'll figure it out.clique said:- Did you install your headers yourself, or have them professionally installed? If you did it yourself, how was it in terms of difficulty and time?
- Are there any performance-related benefits to stainless steel versus ceramic? I think your ceramic headers matched the engine nicely, and I have the same engine block, so I think ceramic would look good. I'd like to save the $100 or so, as long as stainless steel doesn't perform better or anything like that...
I agree that sedans are considered non-performance, but I don't think the benefits of a coupe are too noticable. I have an auto, too, so that's another negativeAccelerazn said:sedan = family car = non performance... thats why its harder to find parts for sedans over coupes... i mean you dont see mothers driving an accord coupe do you? no you see them drive an accord sedanbut i aint hatin on sedans.. they can be cool as well
