man... this is bullshit. after i went to my court arraignment for my "speed contest" ticket yesterday, i received another ticket at 12:30am for speeding & my exhaust today.

i was driving down a small street in alhambra from visiting my homie girl & came to a 4 way stop. i stopped and drove down the block a little & i noticed the "police vechile" headlights behind me so i slowed down. as soon as my speed decreased about 5mph under the limit. the officer pulled me over & gave me a ticket for my modified exhaust & speeding. the exhaust is minor, so whatevers... but the fucked up thing is, i never broke the freakin limit. he doesn't even have me on the radar gun. damn 626 asshole officers don't have anything better to do but harass people in fixed up cars.

i need advice. i want to contest it, but should i? because he doesn't have me on radar. he has no proof i broke the limit. after this, im going back to stock... haha!

here are the codes & sections:
22350 c.v.c unsafe speed
27151 c.v.c modified exhaust

thanx!

Go to court and challenge him on the safe speed 'cauze the maximum speed on California HW is 65mph! Basically the speed limit depends on the condition of the road so you could go faster than the posted speed as long as the road condition allow (traffic, pple, weather, and etc)! Since it happened early in the morning (no traffic or pple around), the safe speed should be over the 30mph! As you posted (4 or 6 lanes total), the safe speed should be around 40mph or 45mph! Just say that to the judge!

If the speed limit is 30, you are breaking the law by going over 30. What kind of wishful thinking are you into these days?

well Technically you can drive over the speed limit..ie to avoid dangerous situations. "the basic speed law" says something about safe and reasonable speed. if its raing hard, fogs, etc. and you are going at speed limit 30 mph. then you can still get a ticket.

just fight the ticket. get 2 extensions, then fight it. when you fight it and the cop shows up. plead guilty and ask for traffic school from the judge. oh yes you can go to traffic school 3 times in 18 months now. new law. hehe

fight the exhaust ticket. That's complete BS, I saved myself $87 by going to court, making the officer look like a complete ass by throwing all this legislation at him and winning. All this at 8:00 AM the day after Christmas. I'm pretty sure that dickless piece of shit was thinkin "Why oh why did I pull this guy over, give him a ticket, and have to come down to court early in the morning the day after Christmas just to make a fool out of myself?" I hope that pig thinks twice before pulling over "an asian kid in a modified car." Cops gotta realize that not all car modifiers in southern california are high school drop out aZiAn kIdS.

It's a speed limit not maximum speed! You could over the speed limit if the condition lets you! Cops will however determine what is the safe speed on that street @ that particular time! Cops would give you a ticket for go 10 mph in flooding area (with speed limit of 30 mph) 'cauze he could say that the safe speed is 5 mph!
