Alright, I'm taking delivery of my 90 Civic Dx tonight, to replace my Beloved Type R (when She sells). First thigs first, I'm going to make the civic turn.... Who has anti-sway bars/strut tower braces? I'm looking for opinions, or else I'll probaly just go with the progress pieces, unless someone has a better suggestion...
Any help would be appreciated...also where would the best place to purchase them from be?
Peace!

agreed. mugen and spoon are VERY expensive though, but if you're down like that, i dont see why not...neuspeed can offer you excellent quality at a fractional price of those other pieces. but i do agree, for all your tuning needs, spoon/mugen is the best.

I'm not talkingabout strut tower Braces, I want to get the best performing rear anti-sway bar, they bolt underneath the car, and tie the rear suspension together to help it work as a system, rather than individual components...If you put a really beefy anti-sway bar, on the car, it will help eliminate twist of the chassis, and it will be more noticable than any strut tower brace. I was thinking of going with a 19-22mm rear anti-sway bar, but I am concerned that it'll be too aggressive for street use, although I do intend on going to the occasional auto-X and open track day (road racing) the vast majority of my driving will be on the street.

Thanks for the imput on the strut tower braces though, but I'm looking to purchase the asnti-sway bars first before anything else.
So does anyone have any experience in them?
Peace!

i also like the DC Sports rear lower tie arm. the polished one is shiney as fuck and at night is really noticable
fuckin $money$
Bah. If you want a noticeable one, get the Benen bar.

The silver one looks TIGHT. And it's beefy as fuck, and actually functional, unlike what I've heard about the DC bar.

People walk behind my car and drop down and are all like "What the fuck is THAT?"

I just posted a thread on swaybar physics in the Autocross forum. I recommend you look.

The fact of the matter is that a swaybar is a hunk of spring steel with brackets. The quality of the brackets varies more than the spring steel. Suspension Techniques brackets are as good as any (really better than some more expensive ones), and do a decent job preventing tear out because they have a whole back plate on the subframe mount.

The same goes for strut tower bars. As long as its not hinged and fits and has enough metal to do the job, its good. There is a notch up in triangulated strut tower bars that also tie in to the firewall.

The strut tower bar is WAAAY secondary to getting the swaybars and spring rates & corner weights all worked out. It only makes a difference after you develop enough grip to start flexing stuff. More grip -> install more bracing.

Looks may be another issue, though.

did you get the kit with the front and rear ones?
i got the front and rear ST kit, it's 1" front 3/4" rear, only $234 from options auto salon, my mechanic got em on his car, and i was sold, great performance for little money, it might not be the top of the line, but hardly anyone on the board needs top of the line LOL i guess it's just fun to say you got what ever high dollar part on your car :)

I have just come across some good deals on the 90 civic and CRX, the 91 CRX isn't running right now, and the Type R is for sale...The GSR is paid for so why sell it?

As far as the H22:
Many racers don't run a front Anti-sway bar because it will induce more understeer. Maybe look into getting an aftermarker rear one (bigger) and run as stiff of a strut tower brace as you can. I would also try and find out fron honda.hybrid what other Civic.CRXers have done about it...
Peace

P.s. thanks for the auto-X link (shorthand?)
