Ummm......ok:confused:

My friend has a CM stage 3 on his Si. He only has intake and header so far, but he likes the clutch alot. The pedal feel is like stock, and it engages really nice. Very easy to get a 3rd gear chirp. Not too sure about cons cause I never really drive his car. I guess you could say the price. I think it cost him about $500 straight from CM. On that other Si site ;) , the people on that board seem to like the Excedy clutch. It isn't too expensive, about $350 I think through Summitt, which means you can more than likely find it cheaper since Summitt tends to be kinda expensive at times. But they also say that the pedal can be hard to engage. I don't have any personal experience with this clutch, but just a little info. for ya. Hope this helped a little

Thanks
Im just curious, why do these people get like stage 3 clutches when they only have basic bolt ons in their car. Do you really need that strong of a clutch? I don't think so.

Maybe for future upgrades that might need a stage 3???

YES YOU DO. Honda clutches suck, especially if you drag race your car. A standard clutch will last only 5 or 6 months and then it starts slipping.. If you buy a clutch that can hold 250 hp and you have only 150 it will last long. And your sure all the power gets to your wheels and there is no slipping in the clutch

Furthet act has a very stif pedal feel. You have to have leg muscles.
Try clutchnet.
I'm sure an act clutch stage 1 would do the job, you don't really need stage 3 unless you're squeezing, turbocharged, or fully built na. You don't need a stage 3 clutch for bolt ons.

True, but once you get to that point you are going to need to upgrade right? Why not do it from the get go?
i guess, just seems like a stage 3 would be too stiff from descriptions that I've read. but I guess you have a point.
I have Cluthc Masters Stage 3 in my Si!! and i chirp 4th easily!!
I have the CM's Stage 1. I got it last February and I think its beginning to slip. It doesn't quite engage as quickly as it used to.
But when that sucker was brand new, i was able to slightly chirp 3rd gear. Its a good overall Stage 1 clutch. It would have lasted me longer had I not had too much fun drag racing with it. After doing 5000 rpm dumps, the clutch, even a stage 3, will eventually wear down. It's not indestructable.

By the way, My friend and I blasted the Stock pressure plate into 4 pieces. PROOF that Honda Clutches SUCK!!!!

If youre using bolt-ons and dont plan on F.I., get a stage 1. But if you plan to do shit, I would go stage 2 or 3.

Personally, the next clutch I get will be an ACT. I hear good things about the ACT clutches. However I'm not going with a stage 3, I'll save that extra $$ for a Quaife LSD and a light weight Flywheel. An LSD will do wonders, especially for just bolt-on's. From what I hear, you will accelerate a little better, plus with a lighter flywheel, you can get those rev's up a little faster.

PEACE-

Actually your right, stage 3 is pretty strong for such a weak setup. He would've been ok with a little weaker clutch. But he is planning going turbo in a few months. So he was actually just palnning ahead.
ACT xtreme/ss here for the last year and love it. The pedal feel is a lot more stiff, but you get used to it after a few days.
