oh and by the way, its a 5th gen prelude ss.
You can just switch over all your parts from you automatic to a 5 speed. Most engine mods will fit both...IMO, doing to conversion is just a waste of money. Just should've bought a 5spd. in the first place..
you can just use auto-shift
if you really want to convert into manual unless you can do it by yourself, or the labor fee would be so expensive
or you can trade in your auto 5th gen to get the manual 5th gen (it is better than you convert into manual)

These guys specialize in auto to manual swaps. They have good prices.
If you plan on having the conversion done at a shop, you're looking at about $600 (10 hours) of labor, and that's if you bring them every single part they'll need. If you plan on doing it yourself, I wish you lots of luck. You may need a new flywheel. I'm not sure if this is all cars, but some Hondas had different flywheels depending on the transmission. A friend of mine bought a 5 speed CRX with a blown motor (Threw a piston) for $600 and we recently swapped a working engine in. Well the new engine we got had a totally different flywheel than the blown one when we took it apart. You might be able to get a deal if you buy the tranny and flywheel from the same place. Using a junkyard clutch is a bad idea, so you should buy that new. Plus there's tons of other parts you need that most people don't think of. All in all, it's an extremely costly swap. I'd priced it before on my old car and the guy listed all the stuff I'd have to bring him, plus the $600 labor. It'd be less hassle and far cheaper to get another Lude and transfer your mods

I got my 5th gen converted at a local shop and it works great. Was a little pricey, but when you've got a lot of major work done to the block and head, you just gotta do what you gotta do. I had to convert mine because of the work done, the SS tranny wouldn't hold and a level 10 tranny rebuild (for the auto) still wouldn't hold, it is only good for 500hp and 400lbs. IMO If you stay under those I would go with the level 10 rebuild kit as opposed to the conversion, the auto is much more precise.
sell your car and buy a 5 speed. take all your parts off it and put it in the new car. you'll be able to sell yours for more and your new one will be faster. i don't see why anybody would pay money for a transmission that costs less from the factory.

So your car has over 500hp with 400lbs of torque?
in the beginning you have paid more $$$ for auto-shift than manual ($1000 more, except SH) than now you want to pay another $1000 more for convert into manual ??? i think trade-in and get a manual one may be a good deal, and also gain some money maybe
I was quoted $1400 for mine and i did not have it done b/c i was too poor at the time and still am now.
sell the ss and buy a manual....it wouldn't be a bright idea to spend money on the conversion...plus it will never be as good as a 5 speed from the factory.

I have no choice but to convert mine auto to 5 sp, too... BS...WHATEVER.. IF U HAVE ENOUGH MONEY.. AN AUTO WILL BE THE BEST CHOICE.. I DON'T KNOW IF U NOTICED THAT MOST 9 OR 8 SEC CARS ARE AUTO..BUT WITH A DIFFERENT TRANNY SYSTEM...I think their tranny cost over 20k... (not too sure on this price)...

I got mine done for 2k but mine tranny is a 2000 5 sp with only 10k with LSD and a stage 4 clutch and lighten fly wheel.. I got it done at Sacramento, CA.. If u live near SAC... I can ask my friend to give u some discount.

List ur mod ... u might be better off to take everything out and buy a 5 sp...
wassup david, haven't seen u on in a while. hey can u ask your boy warren if he can put in a zex kit for me next week? just PM me back or call my cell, cause i wanna do it asap.
i sugest u buy a helms manual and do it yourself. labor from shops is going to be out the ass.
i'm thinking you're better off swapping everything you've already done to your car and transplanting it into a new 5sp. or if you still want to do the conversion, it'll cost you. Not just in price but lots of things can go wrong in the process.
yo, thanks for all the info guys. I have no way to buy another car and swap all the shit. I don't have an extra 14g's that i can use temporarly to buy a new car and sell the auto. I will try converting it and tell you the results. maybe i will just supercharge and kick 5 speed asses. thanks for all the help.

Go with level 10 tranny equipment and then go with FI. You will definatly be able to whoop some asses then.
whats all this level stuff everyone is talking about? Please fill me in.
