ATS LSD vs. Type-R LSD

Does anyone have experience with the ATS LSD or ITR OEM LSD?

Just wondering because I have an opportunity to purchase either one for a decent price but am not sure whether its worth it to spring the extra cash for the ATS.

I'm kinda leaning toward saving money and being content with the Honda engineered LSD but then I don't know how much difference I should expect from an aftermarket one.

I'v e heard Quaife is actually better than the ITR's OEM LSD. I know a few who replaced the ITR LSD for the Quaife unit.
you can;t even compare a stock itr lsd to an ATS. not even in the ballpark. the ATS is more money though, with it needing expensive oil too. for most people, a quaife is just about all they need. up to the consumer though...

I have had both, with a ATS in my car now, and i couldn;t be any happier. :)
What difference would an ATS LSD make vs. a stock one? Is it really worth the money to replace it? What improvements will I see if I did so?
Yeah Rodney, What difference would an ATS LSD make vs. a stock one? Is it really worth the money to replace it? What improvements will I see if I did so?

I'd like to hear the answer for this?

hmm. basically, you get much much more bite. it allows you to get on the throttle sooner, and take a more aggressive line. stock lsd's do not work under braking, which, with the ATS is a key advantage. stock lsd's also have a tendancy to push under wfo throttle, vs. the ATS that pulls a tighter line. but, the ATS comes with a price. reduced low speed drivability (sounds like an axle click/pop) annual rebuilds (although, i'm gonna try to stretch my rebuild interval for a while) and expensive oil changes.

but, it is all about time, and the ATS reduces time. case closed.

oh, and the 3 people that read this, tell bbasso to actually compete, instead of making fuun of ricers

:zombie:
I don't make fun of ricers, I just stare in amazment at the shit they put on the car while I drive my Olds 88.
And as for competition- wait and see my time trail runs on Nov 11th.
btw Thanks for the response- I was just busting nuts.
