well im about to install an alarm, and I have prices for them:
300 audiovox installed
400 clifford installed

both considered good installers, possibly the clifford is the wider known and more respected, but both have lots of experience.

which one should i get?
i reall dont care how fancy the remote looks, they both have ranges of about 1/4 mile(getting the 2 way)
what do you think? is there really anything the DEI, obviously more respected, does better than the audiovox?
I dont mind paying +100 if its really that much better....

is it?

i had an Audiovox 996 alarm/remotestart, it was a good unit i had no problems with it. I used it primarily becuase of the aux channels it provided (5 aux outputs)

all of my other vehicles have had viper's(DEI)..

speaking from an installers pov, id say they offer the same amount of protection, are both straightforward, for the user and installer.. only thing that DEI had above the Audiovox(Prestige), is the lifetime warranty, which i think is huge..
i do notice however, that more older prestiges come in for problems than any DEI/Clifford product.. 9 out of 10x's,its the install though, resulting in a bad product..
