Although it has like 100k miles on it, im getting it for $7,000...so i figure if i have to swap the engine down the road it'll be no prob. ill let you guys know how everything goes...oh yeah...im not too good on driving stick yet...this will only be my second car....first was a '91 Civic hatch automatic....any advice for a manual-newbie?

let the clutch out SLOWWWWWWWW... and dont let it go all the way out the second the car starts to roll keep gently letting it out until its all the way out... but also just takes time no matter what because you have to learn the car and the clutch
make sure you press the clutch all the way in when you're about to switch gears, grinding is bad! :p

i back that up :)
Sound to me like you´re gonna need a new clutch in a couple of months!!!:D

Welcome to our sol family.
once u drive a stick you'll never go back to a automatic
how long did it take you guys to get the hang of it....i am pretty nervous about driving it...my friend took me out for about 10 minutes and let me fool around....i bucked pretty hard, a couple of times i did it pretty good....then again a couple times i peeled some wheels too....

i found with my car i give it a lil gas and slowly take my foot off the clutch. but it took me a few months to get used to it plus it wasn't my first standard to drive. it had been a while since i drove one. the worst is being on a uphill at a stop light
for some reason it seems that the stock clutch in a sol is REALLY weird. I've had two sol's now and with both of them, EVERY time someone else tried to drive them, they either bounced it, burned it, or peeled out.

beats me....... but it seems like it's not as easy a stick to drive as some other cars.

good luck learning!!!! You'll never regret it !
my clutch is weird too. i picked my car up the other day and i kept screwing up on engaging the clutch. its really strange and then when i drive a lil bit it seems like normak again. my clutch engags at half way but my brother accord is at the bottom.
