b16 oil pan on LS

5202 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  randyman
can I use the oil pan and oil baffle from the JDM b16a1 on my LS/VTEC set up? Does the B16 have a crank girtle like the GSR?
I need to know before i go out and buy a GSR oil pan set up.
Thanks

any LS or B16A pan will fit as they are one and the same (pickups are identical too).

B16A or LS oil pan will work (all same pan). I'm sure the CRV pan would work too, but I don't know for a fact.

basically any B-series oil pan except the GSR or ITR oil pan.

u can still use the B18C1/5 oil pan but the oil pickup must be swapped as well.

p.s.
do u have an ITR or GSR girdle, main caps, etc. in ur ls/vtec?

B18A/B oil pan is same as B16A since neither uses a crank girdle. so the answer would be "no".

hth.
ok, thanks.
so for $150 should i get the complete GSR set up? oil pan, pick up, girtle, crank caps, and baffle?
or will a gsr baffle fit?
how hard is it to make the crank girtle work on the LS? I know it needs to be trimmed on one side to fit, but I have also seen people ues the Z10 gard and shave down the crank caps and a whole mess of stuff. Is all this really nessary?
I want to do it right, but im a broke ass like everyone else = )!
thanks

the whole fabrication is really not that hard to do. if u have a lathe, u can do the trimming urself. or just have a machine shop do it.

this site will tell u what u need to do...
