Hey kids! Ok, 2 weeks til I do my swap and I already know about all the maintenance stuff that I have to replace but I am having trouble thinking of what else I can throw in while the engine is out. Nothing major...mostly bolt on stuff. All I can think of now is:

Better Wires/Plugs
MSD Ignition
uhhh....

uhhhh...

Well, that's all I can think of! Can you guys think of anything I can replace that can make a significant difference in engine performance?? Little stuff like fuel filters, bushings for the shift linkage...stuff like that. I am going to have about $1500 more to spend on this stuff so PLEASE help. Time is of the essence here!! I posted this exact same topic in another forum, in hopes of getting a good amount of responses.

Thanks

Timing Belt
Water Pump
Clutch
Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
Distributor Cap and Rotor
Vacuum lines

I'll think of more shit....... give me time
Thermostat
Flywheel if it is needed
All hoses and clamps

Performance parts:

Header
Intake
Bored Throttle body
Skunk2 or ITR intake manifold:)

Just some things I would think of doing if I had the money

I got that taken care of.....

I am talking about stuff like icing on the cake! You know, better ignition system, maybe a performance distributor, cams??

I dont know shit about cams....or which ones to get that will be compatible with what I am getting.

I want to stick to all motor at first, and then move onto something more later on....

Ok.....

So we have the following covered:

Name Brand Wires/Plugs
MSD Ignition
Header(I may or may not get this since I hear the stock header and downpipe are really good to begin with)
2.25 piping from the cat back/muffler
Fuel Filter
Intake

How much can Cam gears and cams make a difference?? What brands, and how much mulah are we talkin here??

Oh, and what water pump do i get over here?? From what USDM Car?? Integra, or Del Sol??

I drive in traffic every day and have no problem with it...I´m using the exedy fly and clutch combo and its great, cant complain about it
yeah, but do you drive in uphill traffic with steep angles?? I am talking bumper to bumper office space kinda where the old man is walking faster than you are and he's on crutches kinda traffic :D

I know that with a light flywheel the rpms get higher much faster, but they do drop faster too right??

JC
If you're in that kind of traffic, then it's the Stage II or III clutch that you don't want.....rather then the flywheel....get the flywheel man.....if you got the money that is!!!!!!!
WhiteRice is a queer.
goto todaracing.com and buy everything they got head gasket 4 throtle body intake ( j/k) cams camgears skunk2 intake manifold is nice. in scc (sport compact car) they have been having B series parts guide so u could look there but things arent cheap
crxrocks is a three-dollar whore who will give you change back!!!!!

Nice website pal.....man...I wish I could scan my whole haynes manual and call it an original site!!!! :p :p :p Just playin Dork!
For starters...

Then:
Intake (even if its a cheap one)
Headers
Exhaust
----Those mods won't make a lot of power, but it'll clear up bottlenecks and insure that you're insuring that every bit of that 160hp flywheel hp is being transferred to the ground.

*You'll need exhaust if you have a DX anyhow, the piping probably wont bolt up to the b16a exhaust manifold*
You might need gaskets if you're leaking oil. (it is a 13year old motor after all)

Tires tires tires! 0-60 is all in the launch. Burning out and chirping tires may be cool, but every time your tires squeal, power's not bein transferred to the ground.

Of course...after you get the swap, you must go out and show one of them fellas from the integra forum what for. It's your duty.
:D

Oh, and think twice about "short shifters."
The modified shift linkages shortened my shifts quite a bit. It's hard to explain, but if you get the same thing you'll know what I mean.

Buy any and all gauges that you want to install, it is much easier to put them on now than it will be later! Take off the oil filter that came on the engine before you drop it in, if you're like me and have one of those form fitting filter wrenches, you won't have a wrench to fit that filter. If your engine looks dirty inside, change the VTEC selenoid gasket, which is complete with filter. Take your throttle body off before putting the engine in, just trust me.:)
Ok!! Me going shopping this week!! Waiting on my summit racing catalog to come in. That's where I am buying all my shit from(I hate local state taxes!!)

I'll post pics when I am done. Wish me luck!!

www.crower.com

get a nice set of crower cams and adj cam gears...if you already have an intake, headers, and exhaust.....you wont be disappointed if you add on a set of one of these. you could also put in a NOS setup instead of the cams but thats all up to you. for 1500 bucks you can get a msd6a, blaster 2 or 3 coil, msd dist cap, crower cams, adj cam gears.

if you are looking for cams...crower cams are the SHIT! you'll especially love when the vtec kicks it.....with the camshafts youll have a definition to what VTEC sounds like when it kicks in.
Dude, they have like several cams there....how do I know which ones to get?? Something thats simple bolt on performance....I dont wanna fuck up my timing or anything. Any suggestions?? Cams and cam gears sound like a good idea to go with. I need to look up that blaster coil you are talking about. This shit is too fun....my girl is takin care of the bills and I have the green light to spend all my money on my car :D I think I am sick or something.....$200 here....$500 there and I am happy to be spending it! WTF! :D

OK, I am getting the Skunk 2 intake manifold for sure, along with msd ignition and blaster coil.....

any more info on the skunk 2 cams?? Do any of you guys have them, and are they safe to drop into a stock B16a without having to touch the bottom end??
