I am looking to buy a b16a second gen engine from this guy..I have a 95 honda civic dx and I am wondering if anyone can help me out on telling me on how to know exactly if it is really a second gen motor...Thanks

2nd gen motor?

I'm am going back to look at the eng and wanna know if the eng code is stamped on the block or the head so that I know it really is the eng he is selling and also is there a way to tell whether it is JDM or USDM...sorry should have been more explanatory..Thanks

JDM motors don't have a number after the letters. You would see it as a B16A

The second gen has grey connectors for the wiring as opposed to a milky white color. It also doesn't say anything on the intake manifold. The VTEC letters on the valve cover should be bigger then the DOHC as well.

Yeah, using the b16a2 or 3 only works for US motors. If you are looking into buying the SiR2 B16, look for the gray wire connectors(you wont be using the harness anyways, but it its there look for that). The SiR1 B16 also has a cable tranny, SiR2 has hydraulic(which is what you want for your 95). Also, the intake manifold does NOT say PGM-FI - if it does then you have been ripped off.
