im gonna swap a b16b ctr motor in my 94 eg. how can i tell if its a ctr motor? what difference does it have to a b16a or any other motor? das ol

Look at the block. If you're looking at it as if it's in the engine compartment, "B16B" should be stamped on the leftside of the block facing you. Just like other B or D series blocks.;)

yup....i wonder if people could modify the numbers though.so the only way they could tell is internally

It would be easy to grind it down & as long as the stampings were clean, I don't think too many peeps would be able to tell the faked stampings from a real one. With a red valve cover it could almost be indistinguable. I guess look for the twin cams and at least you won't get stuck w/ a D series when you're buying a B.:D ;)
