one more thing does anyone know the specs on where the mounts sit i can make them but i dont know the position of em
same here

id also like to know the weight diffrence in them b18 vs d16 thanks
oh and whats the hood clearance isue
you will need all of the shit (axles, shift linkage (modified), ECU, all emissions equip if you wanna get BAR approved like me) for the swap, depending on the mount kit you get it will either sit then engine forward (Place racing)...or back a little more (HCP).....there are no hood clearance issues with a B18A/B...and the weight difference.....well it took at least 6 of us big mo fo's to pick up the B18 and 2 to pick up the D...........
:number1 what he said

except for the weight, I dont know why it would take 6 people.. I could lift it with two. It is significantly heavier than the d series. I would say by 75 pounds? thats just a guess. I hear 100 pretty often. But, with headers, you shave about 20 pounds, you save a few with a cai, then you lose the a/c for another 30-40. And you dont use power steering or anything for that matter other than an alternator.. and you've saved a hell of alot of weight. In any case, the power makes up for the weight. Big time.

I would put the battery in the back. Better weight distribution.
ive done the 91 a1 swap in my 88 hf crx. Its fairly involved but not to rough. i got new shift linkage (hasport), mounts (hasport), used stock wiring harness, new axels, new spindles off a teg with brakes, intake (cai aem), header (dc), catalytic converter (gap between header and cat-back is longer that stock so get a longer cat), new flywheel (highly suggest at least resurfacing the one that is one there if the motor is out), new clutch ( once again if motor is out its an easy change if needed) I think thats it if I missed something its probably listed in my sig. Hope I helped.

oh yeah transmission: use the stock ls if your car is cable or if you can find one use a cable b16 tranny for closer ratio gears. if your hydro then try to get a hydro b16 tranny.
b18as r only good with gsr trannys b16 to short it cant handle doin 50mph all day,ls to long, gsr jus right ,dont rev past 7 and dont even rev to 7 that much cuz i went threw three and said fuck this now i am a proud owner of a b16

Honda designed that transmission to go with that engine. It has a team of engineers who design model specific transmissions, they spend all day designing and testing, studying gear ratios and final drives. Yes, it has longer gears but it works fine. I dont know how you fried 3 of them.. you may want to check your source, I think they are selling you fried trannies. oh well, the gsr trans is a good idea, but in a pinch, the ls will do just fine. Expecially in a crx that doesnt weigh much.
no shit sherloc,i said i blew three b18a1 motor not trannys i would never by a ls tranny, yes i no they were designed for that motor i know because it came stock on it lol,and the reason why is because it has low end power not high end power and that saves fuel it doesnt take a genoius to figure that one out,i said gsr tranny because they r a lil shorter and the reason why they r shorter is because it was desighned for a performace motor lol b18a makes pretty good power they jus dont last long when u race on them like i did three times ,and the b18as i had,one was from hmotors (my first one),then a junk yard called acme foeighn auto and they started the motor and ran it for a while for me and the third one was from my moms integra the timing went off and a bunch of problems on it so she gave it to me and i fixed it and she got a new motor and it is still running good today because she is using ls tranny and doesnt race it but i wooped her in my crx b18a b16 tranny be4 lol

That may be the longest run-on sentence ever written. Ever.
check out my website. full on b16a install, the b18a/b is the same - minus the wiring for VTEC.
