Yeah I have a civic with a '98 b18b1 and a stock p75 computer, but the thing is that my engine cuts out like at rev limit at 6k. I know that the b18b can rev till 6800 and rev limit at 7200. Could this be caused by not having a speed sensor connected?

Why go higher? Your motor quits making power at 6k anyway. Look it up.

Also the rev limit is 6500 rpm if you have a b18b1

Edit: actually, your right, the 94+ b18b's don't make peak till 6800.

Are you sure your tach is dead on and not giving you a false reading? The tach runs off your dizzy, so possibly make sure everything there is working as it should. Is the p75 the proper computer for that motor? do you have the right OBD version??

It is an obd2 b18b1 in an ej1 civic body. I have an obd1 p75. I had an obd2 dizzy in it and it was doing it, I put in an obd1 dizzy and it's still doing it.

Yeah the p75 is the ls computer.

Thats probably your problem. Your engine needs to get the adapters to work with an OBD1 comp. OBD 1 and OBD 2 anything in teh same car = not compatible/caues problems.

well your motor isnt, that's probably your issue. RY-Wire sells the adapters to do what you need to do I do believe. Check it out.
