B18c in 92 auto civic

I just wanted some advice on droping a b18c or b18c5 in my 92 civic lx. I have a d15b7 and was wondering if my trany would fit on a b18, and if it did would my trany be able to handle it? Another thing.... is it a big hassel to convert to vtec, you know changing my computer and all? Or would it be just better to get some nos or a Super charger? Is it worth it because my friend says that his sohc is faster than his dohc, he has a 93 civic dx and a 99 civic ex, both with mods.:p

Your tranny will not work with the b18c(1 & 5). Its too much power and they wont even match up. If you are planning on keeping your car auto you might as well turbocharge it. SOHC turbocharged cars CAN make power- and good power at that. You dont NEED a DOHC engine if you want to turbocharge. As for N20 vs. Supercharger i would say turbocharger. Usually more power than a supercharger and its usually about the same price- if not cheaper.
Wrap up: Buy a Drag or Greddy turbo kit for your car and turbocharge it.

Yeah I want to say with it because I have done some work on it and some mods. So turbo is the way to go huh. I just don't know if my stock internals can handle it... maybe 4-5 psi at most. Maybe I should get rid of the car and get myself a new one. thanks for the advice. :)
How much psi your engine can handle also depends on the fuel/spark mangment of it. You will (probally) need larger injectors, an in-tank fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, diff plugs, wires, MSD coil, and maybe a Zydne ECU.
Also, Tuning is essential. After you put your turbo on you will want to take it to a dyno and tune the hell out of it.
You cant just "slap" a turbo on. Start small (fuel/spark upgrades) then work your way up to the turbo. That way if you change your mind you can buy N20 instead and boost with that safley.

well some of my mods include; msd wires and distributer upgrade. yeah your right I'm getting ahead of myself I would still need the ecu, fuel pump & reg. with better injectors. Even then how much would this affect my boost potential?
Sounds like you have a pretty good start so far. Just take it one step at a time and you'll get there. I really have no idea what PSI you should plan on boosting at but I am sure you can take care of that when you get there. It really depends on how far you take it on upgrading your fuel/spark/engine mangement. You may also want to think about getting a thicker+nicer headgasket to lower the comp. ratio.
Good luck boosting:D
