Hey guys, i have a 94 Accord lx 5spd and i have been getting less than 20 miles to the gallon with and AEM Cai and DC headers. I also have some spark plug wires, but i dont know how old they are cause they were on there when i bought my car last march. Some people say intake and headers increase mileage, but mine decreased. ANy suggestions why i have shitty mileage.

haha thats crazy. 20 to the gallon. umm headers and intake does decrease ur gas consumption but if u reset your ecu, u may just get some back. do you do regular tune ups? clean ur injectors? oil change? any leaks?abnormal throttle response? and hwo about your exaust can you smell it to be disturbing or natural. i can tell if a car needs a tune up by the exaust and if its stinky and smoggy it needs one but if its clean (relativly) then its fine...dont be sniffin it hard though get back to me.

My car almost never goes above 20-22 mpg and that is with me doing mostly highway driving. The only time I have gotten better was on my way back from Texas, 80 mph on cruise for hours on end--30mpg. My car gets mileage like this no matter what, even after a tune up or something.

I also drive 02 Camry 4cylinders and 03 Corollas home from work and they get low 20s on fuel economy too. Hmm maybe it's me?!?

last weekend i got the best mileage i can remember. It was about 23 or 24 mpg. All i did that weekend was race. I put about 300 miles on my car in two days racing on the highway with my governor kicking in every sinlgle race. Some races went for over 10 miles. I thought id get shit mileage cause i had my foot on the floor almost all weekend, but i got the best mileage. I dont get it. I bought some platinum plugs, but i think im gonna get some platinum +4's instead . Is there really a differace or should i get the denso iridium ones. THanks

if you changed your timing that could affect your gas mileage i believe. if i'm wrong please let me know. if you changed your timing you should be running on the good gas(either 91or 92) if not you might be detonating wrong time. that could be bad, but you should know when you do that. but by changing your timing you use gas more efficiently, and if you increase your air fuel ratio, then you use more gas, (that means if you have a intake), but i really dont know if all this means anything, somebody correct me so i know, thx
