i was wondering what would be the best engine to put in a crx for speed and horsepower

Depends on how much you wanna spend and what your plans are for the car..............The most common overall swap is the B16. Lots of potential and not a bad price.

b18A/b is better for turbo application while the B16A is better for N/A.....like he said.....its all up to what you plan on using the car for

Some serious power

You need a b20 (out of a JDM CRV and throw the Vtec system on it). It screams, only problem is its hard to find to parts to repair it sometimes

If not built right the CRV-tec (B20 with the Vtec head) can be unreliable. Go check out www.crvtec.com if you want to go that route. Should a be a wicked motor if built right. Lot's of $$ though. Me personally, I feel the B16a is the best overall motor for the crx. Fairly inexpensive, and the aftermarket parts are there for it.

my experiences suggest one that runs...heh heh im looking at a b18a and then go vtec later on down the road, here its a pretty nic set up. plus im going turbo later too, so hmm...
