Best Header/Exhaust?

2061 Views 15 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  slow azz accord
Hello everyone,
I just bought a new 2002 Accord coupe LX and want to start modifying it. I have ordered an AEM CAI and I am looking for an exhaust and a header. Which companies makes is the best header and exhaust for an Accord? I used to have a modified civic, so I know nothing about Accords.

Thanks

Greddy SP is a good exhaust really low rumble but loud when you want it. i think dc sports makes good headers.
Tanabe/Apexi/GReddy- exhausts
DC- headers

I say lower your car first. When I see a nice modified car and that's at stock height, I want to puke.

YES!!! that's exactly how i feel...it's almost as bad as seeing big ass cars like tauruses, suv's and minivans with those midget 8" rims that stick out like 3 feet from the car!!! GROSS!

DC headers are the best street legal headers within a reasonable price range

even tho i have GReddy, i'd say get Tanabe...i rarely see those on 6th gen accords
i would go with a greddy exhaust and DS sports ceramic headers
no, DONT lower your car first. get rims before you lower. Lowered cars with hubbys are not very appealing....to say the least...
then again rims on a stock height car look kinda weird too.
what would be the difference between the ceramic and stainless headers???
Neuspeed N2 headers are also really good along with dc sports headers!
Ceramic headers are better for heat since they don't get as hot as say stainless steel, stainless steel just looks better but then will turn dif colors because of the heat!
If you want performance I would go with a straight through muffler exhaust system such as 5Zigen Fireball, HKS Super Dragger, Apex'i N1 or HKS Hiper muffler with custom mandrel bent piping. If you want something that is not loud, I would go with the Apexi WS. As for headers, people love DC Sports but I prefer Kamikaze because it is 4-1 with short runners and has a 3 inch downpipe. This is a great header for FI or nitrous...and since I run nitrous, this header is to my best interest. Good luck in your header and exhaust shopping.
Just a quick note on the lowering. If you can't lower and do rims at the same time, then for the love of god, lower before you get rims. You have no idea how many people think rims at stock height look hidious. It shows that you could drop the cash for rims, but are too ghetto to lower the car. At least when you lower the car on stock rims, people think you can't afford expensive ass rims yet.

true, , but aren't ceramic headers know for cracking??
i've had ceramic for 2.5 years now....bottomed out countless times...still no cracking....i guess it also depends on the welding strength...so yeah.
lol, i agree with you. RIMS ARE FREAKEN EXPENSIVE! i have a 2001 accord ex (inline 4). it has decent 15 inch stock rims, so i just lowered it. it looks a LOT better. but i have to admit the 15's look hella dinky. but i like it anyways, LOT better than having it raised.
