Well since it was suggested to get a new cat, I thought I'd do some research anyways. Which exhaust performs the best, yet is quiet. Basically, which puts out the most HP yet is quiet also? Oh and the tip cannot be too big. {I think the stock IS300 tip is like perfect}

on my 92 civic Si i had an Apex'i world sport catback. it looked pretty nice, and was quiet. you could only here it when you really reved it up and was standing outside the car. i dont know about performance gains, but from what i understand no exhaust is going to add that much power. maybe a little on the top end.

Tanabe Racing Medalion... is carb legal 50 state legal but is fucking loud!!!!! i like it!!!!!! i have it in my EBP SI!;)
he wanted QUIET! lol

If you want quiet, go with the Comptech. That setup is VERY mellow, but when you get on it, sounds INCREDIBLE! It looks pretty much stock, with a chrome tip. Performance-wise, it is up there with the rest of em, but dont be expecting big gains from an exhaust on a normally aspirated car.

Thanks for all the help guys, keep it coming. Hmmm Evo, heard alot about it, but yes it's too large for my liking. Tanabe Mandalion, does it always angle out crookedly, it has on all the ones I've seen. But perhaps too loud. Mugen Twin Loop, sounds like a good contender, along with Comptech. Thanks again so far. TTT!

Yeah, I don't expect much at all, even with I/H/E I think they dynoed 7 hp increase or something like that.

someone on another forum said something about japan making an ultimate silent exhaust that was VERY quiet, and gave out power. i know japan's got strict laws on everything, so i'm sure you can find some made there. i heard one exhaust system costs like over a grand though...phew!

DC Sports, they have a cat-back twin-loop one now real similar to the Mugen one, but at half the price. I have the regular catback, which is real mellow, nice sound as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't sound like a hoard of angry bees.

but then again, I'm kinda partial to DC stuff.

Well i live in north cali , and i really like the sound of the evo,but will the cops be giving me trouble with this where i live.Is there any other exhaust that sounds close to the evo? thanks for the help
well i havn't been given any crapy for it...its not very loud and meets the db limit and if your affraid of the tip being too big you can always have another one put on, i've thought about doing that quite a few times acutally...

Nope! I am in your situation as well, and had the EVO on for more than a year...not even one officer looked twice at my car. It is very subtle and clean sounding. I say get it, and if you do, go through www.civicsuperstore.com they got it to my door for $477!!!

how much is the dc twin loop muffler. and if its only axle-back, what do you use for the resonator and piping from the cat? i need to replace my exhaust system on my del sol because its rusting out.
:confused: adtek
I'm almost positive that its catback and I think it runs $499, same as the regular one. not sure though.

Greddy Evo......hands down!!!

it's very quiet, you gain a little more sound on the low end, but it's a deep throaty sound, and on the whole, the system is pretty damn quiet. it's a great system.

and i know your worried about the tip size.....so was i. however, i bought it from a friend (thanks jeff:D), and given the choice between paying $700 for a new system with a small tip, and $300 for a used system with a big tip, i couldnt resist. however, i've grown to love the greddy evo tip. although 4.5" sounds really big, it fits so perfectly into the bumper cut-out that you dont really notice how big it is......it looks great.....and when it's polished.......WOW!!!:D

i think the Evo is the best choice
