What make/model of boost controller do you have? On some particular models, the user can choose to have a spike, the size of the spike, and the duration of the spike. It could theoretically be hard on the engine, but it depends on the condition under which it's occuring. Have you purposely set it to spike?

wat type of boost controller do you have?

i have never seen boost spike in my car
i get full boost at 4k and stays at the 8lbs all the way till redline

overboost.com sells a electronice apex bc.....not the AVC-R but the other one

Ok sorry bout the dely. I got a AVC-R set up to run .50 bar- I've seen spikes as high .78 The duty cycle is set to 25%- which is already low. Could it just be the turbo is to big for my wastegate. Or should I set the duty cycle down lower? Garret T04/T3 and a turbonetics deltagate wastegate.

dude you must be stupid...... ive seen multipule people say the deltagate sux!!! the only reason it sucked on the drag kits is look were the WASTEGATE bleed pipe is placed on the number 4 exhuast pipe now you tell me if you get a bigger pipe or " better wastegate " your gonna vent more pressure!!!! you cant exhuast gases only go forward!!!! there is no way in hell that the exhuast pulses from 1,2 &3 are gonna make it to the wastegate its easier through the turbo...... save your 215 bux man ...... or what ever the cost... as for you boost spiking is your wastegate atomspheric or no? as for it overboosting i really dont know why i would try some other stuff before replacing the wastegate

dude...you don't know anything about me. I asked if he has bigger pipe. Not because bigger pipe can make boost spike go away, is because bigger pipe can cause boost spike. He has SFP manifold where the weastegate bleed pipe is in the center collector. The dump tube desgn looks very restrictive too.

as for the vent tube... i had spikes almost as high before the tube was welded on.

well thanks for your help... but i'm not gonna worry about it right now. The car goes to the shop on sat for the rebuild it will be retuned after that. I will have the shop take a look at it when it goes in. Thanks!
