how much can i boost on a stock b16 motor? how much power would i get from that boost?
Um yeah that's great... except... the car is not tuned when you just dial the boost up. Thats a great way to blow your motor. Trust me.... It's not like that. You can run 8psi daily on the street, and turn it up to 15psi to race someone...That's the beauty of turbocharging...changing the boost instantaneously...

Low boost *will* damage your motor. You might get a month, or a year or 5 years... but it will take it's toll.
High boost will damage it faster.
Untuned high boost.... you'd be lucky if you get down the street.
OK, here are a couple things to consder... and if you got these mastered, you should work for honda and devolp a turbo setup for all their cars.b16ahybrid said:
A well tuned engine that has a turbo will last just as long as the same engine without a turbo under the same conditions. How is a engine going to wear out faster if it is in perfect tune?
Um... maybe you did not read my post. I said... you might get a month, or a year, or 5 years.you can't make a blank statement like *boost will damage your engine*
A turbo can be rebuilt for $$$....pita106sg said:so i guess turbo is like smoking. some people die earlier than others. hehe....sorry not funny. but good for me im a turbo-holic and not a smok-aholic. hehe
