Today, my antenna decided that it was going to retire from decending back into my car forever. It's a 95 Integra Coupe. The motor runs during on and off switching, but the antenna will not go down. When the radio is off, I try to push any of the telescoping parts, but to no avail: none will go down. Any experience with this, or anyone know how much to fix, or any DIY's for this?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I happen to work at Acura.
I have good news and bad news.
the good news is it might be an antenna mast. parts and labor about $100

the bad news is if the motor is shot and needs to be replaced expect to spend around $400.00 parts and labor.

$400! F*UK THAT! for that i would rather get it shaved off!

if your motor is shot, then good! cause the car looks silly when the antennat is all the way up. just buy the part and put it in your self... problem solved

Thanks for the replies, people!

I will probably end up not doing anything about it. Like I said, the motor works, but it seems/feels that the antenna is not attached to the motor or the mast is not attached to the antenna. I don't even know how these things work.

Thanks!

The antenna is easy to replace, don't have a friggin dealership charge you in the ass for it. I have an IQ of 35 and still figured it out. You just have to remove a little bit of the trunk interior panels to get at it. Buy junglistgsr's antenna and slap that bad boy in there for $55.

I am having the same exact problem. I have a 95 LS

I figured out that inside the antenna there is a little cable with teeth that goes into the motor. That cable has snapped and so part of it is stuck in the motor gears and the other part is in the antenna tube. Because the motor cannot grab on the cable anymore your antenna will stay all the way up. And since the other piece is still stuck in the gears the antenna won't go down either.

What I did was open up the metal part of the motor (2 screws)and removed the piece broken inside the motor.

I removed the entire antenna mast and tube and have it outside the car.

The problem is I can't seem to get the mast removed from the tube. Any ideas?

How much is the antenna mast alone(for b18c ya since you work at an Acura dealer)? If it's more than 40 i'm going with the S2000 antenna.
