A cold air intake is better than a short ram because it sucks in cold air opposed to warm air that is under your hood.

As far as AEM being the best...Well people have their own opinions on that topic, imo I think it is the best.

You are not going to see a huge gain in HP with any intake, on average a cai on an Si will give you anywhere from 2-5 HP.
It works best when you pair it up with a H/E.

What you'll love best about it is when VTEC kicks in...OMG it sounds evil :D

If you have any other questions feel free to ask away...

10x ... I'll definitely go w/ AEM ...

My local Honda dealer told me that the CAI is good for the summer as it prevents the power lost after long drive in the heat ... hope he was right.

One more question - what is the sence in mounting Upper rear tower bar and lower tie bar? I'm thinking about DCSports ones ... any other suggestions?

Instead of going rear upper tower bar and lower tie bar, go with the Comptech sway/tie bar. It is bad ass. It improves your handling significantly. With this bar, your car will reduce understeering and give more neutral handling.

Bryan is right. AEM makes a good intake but Comptech also makes really great ones. However, Comptech is a little bit more expensive. I use to have an AEM but I didn't like it too much and I need cash so I sold it and was recently so tempted to get the Comptech Icebox. I'll post a few pics of it tonight. Peace.

Dont be fooled by it's looks....the AEM CAI definitely looks better than the Comptech icebox, because it comes in red, blue, and gray, which all match the different color schemes of the Si. however, it does generate more power than the AEM CAI. It is quieter in vtec land, which some people dont like. I wish I wouldve spent my money on Comptech stuff...just my opinion.

I like the AEM but admittedly I have never tried the comptech. The AEM adds around 5-6 according the mags, which I believe. There is also a spike between 4500 and 5600 that replace the stock dip for 10-12hp gain in the midrange. Sometimes you don't even need VTEC but when you do use it the sound is evil growl like some pissed off animal.
