I am thinking about getting cam gears for my si, but I was told these need to be installed at a dyno otherwise it is not even worth putting them. Does anyone knows? and what are the best gears? AEM, skunk2, etc?

JUN is my gear of choice(though I don't have any), yeah a dyno helps fine tune your ride, you can adjust your cam gears for a better power curve.

you dont necessarily need a dyno but if you want to adjust the cam gears youll need a dyno to see if you are gaining or losing horsepower.
