Just wondering, I know where I can get a great deal on a set of Alt X-Philes in mint cond, but the tire size is 215/45/17.

I think that's just wishful thinking on my part

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT. I GOT 205'S ON MY CIVIC, AND THE JUST CLEAR THE LIP ON THE FENDER. 215'S WOULD BE TOO WIDE FOR THAT. ESPECIALLY IF IT IS DROPPED 3 INCHES. MINE WAS DROPPED 2.5 AND I HAD TO RAISE IT UP TO 1.5 JUST SO THE TIRES WOULDN'T RUB.

PEASH!

What offset would work?

What offset would this work with? I need to know what offset I should be using on my Civic.

What is the bolt pattern on the civics, 4x100?

Thanks for all the posts

I don't think that's going to work.. The recommended size for 17" wheels is 205/40R17.. with the 215/45R17, not only are you increasing the width, but you're increasing the size of the tires profile.. the profile increased by 14.75mm to be exact.. That's a lot.. Tucking my wheels in by 5mm more helped A LOT.. I had +35 offset 17's, and they rubbed at stock height.. Then I got a set of +40 (tucked in 5mm more) and they didn't rub even when I lowered the car.. So it's just something to think about..

Oh, I came up with those numbers by doing this: The profile in mm is equal to the width of the tire multiplied by the aspect ratio.. i.e. - 205 x .40 (.40 = 40%, the aspect ratio) and 215 x .45 and then I took the difference of the two..

Sorry I forgot to mention that I remouved the inner fender and rolled the lips. I think the offset of the rims is 44 with 215/40zr17 Nitto 450 , I thought they were 45's but there 40's. Sorry
How Exactly do you "roll the lips on the fenders?
I've heard that thrown around a few times, but never asked what exactly do you do??

There are several ways to do it,

1 you can take a baseball bat and lower the car so the tire pushes the bat against the wheel well and then roll it back and forth untill the lip is gone.

2 rent a lip roller and do it with that. You will have to call around to find one.

3 take ameddle dowell and a sheet metal hammer and hammer away.

Im sure theres more way to do this. All your trying to acomplish is to get rid of the lip on the fender. But beware that most of the time the paint will crack, and it's best to seal the fold so no moisture gets in and rusts your fenders.
