can ludes pull their own?

preludes are meant for curves......

well even if thats so isn't there a way to raise the torque off the line?

I think ludes still hold their own. Sentra SER, civic SI, RSX-S, protege MP3, celica GTS are all 2003 cars, and the lude can still beat them, or is right there with them. Of course the maxima and altima are faster, but it still holds its own IMO.

rsx-s is faster than us.

Well if you think about it, the Lude can hold it's own against other sport compacts, but not sport compacts in it's own price range. The RSX-S, GTI, SE-R, Mazdaspeed Protege`, GTS, ect...these cars can more than keep up with a stock Prelude, and most of these new cars are thousands of dollars cheaper. To put it simply, if somebody gave me $25K to spend on a brand new car, I wouldn't buy another Prelude. There's just far too many better cars out there for that amount of cash.

hey i paid 21k for my brand new lude..and its cheaper then all them cars..and the only thing i'v lost to is a impala ss(i beat him once)

i beat IS300(auto). grand am GT, civics(alot), accords(alot)..etc..

but see those cars all weigh much less then the "beefy" lude..
the lude is heavy..2.2 liters.. steel,

but i think the lude can out do them in the corners..cuz it seems lower stock then the the HIGH ass RSX's

stock prelude height is not that bad compare it to the stock rsx's height.

The Prelude was meant for curves, even the s2k was meant for curves, not drag racing. Honda doesn't even drag race they factory back CART, F1, and motor bikes.

If you buy a prelude or any honda to drag race then you either don't know about the company or you are a wishful thinker.

Whoever said that racing is the only thing a car is good for?
My Prelude is easier on the eyes than those other (faster) cars.

i am not a lude driver but i driven a stock 93 prelude vtec and it had lots of power. i mean it has its strong pull and in third gear it hit a 100mph. thats pretty good for a car thats stock. I also driven my friends' 92 prelude SI. it held its own too it was quick compare to alot of cars. lude has lots of potential.

jetta 1.8 turbo can beat a lude u say??? i duno about u but i think thats false...i have a 92 lude si, n i driven my friend's jetta 1.8 turbo n it wasnt all that fast. i smash in his car too, it redline way too fast n i couldnt feel n e power, dont get me wrong...ludes can lose to them if they tweak their turbo. but i think ludes r powerful cars that can do some major whoop ass on the streets.

Why would I want to buy a prelude? Cuz its got looks that words cant describe.....(for a car under 30k), and plus its a 2.2L, has potential.....but i onno, i whipped my fren's SH (i have a GSR) by more than two car lengths....somewhere around there.......but then again, his pussy ass didnt shift at redline - he shifted just past 7000rpm -_-

The new Golf 1.8T's come with 180hp and can more than keep up with stock Preludes in a drag race. The new Golf's only real flaw is a spongey suspension, which would hamper them during any real cornering.

the rsx type s will beat us 100% of the time if the drivers are of equal driving ability.

trust me....they are faster. if they get people running 14's in them stock...most people in preludes run mid 15's as best in here./

i dunno why alot of ppl hat on the lude. its a pretty fast car. i went on car-stats.com and its not as slow as ppl make it out to be. non sh runs a 15.4. thats pretty good for n/a. the new vw1.8t run 15.2 i belive. id still take the lude just for the fact that it looks better, more reliable , and girls wont say my b/f drives a cute vw

preludes are great cars regardless of how "slow" they are. they are not meant to outshine any car on the dragstrip. that should be a given. heavy, FWD, little torque = not a good formula to get down the 1320 the fastest. like everyone said, the prelude belongs on anything but a straight line course. although the lude's weight goes against it there as well. there are cars, like the se-r spec v that feel more nimble around the corners.
