Car idels high when cold???

Since last Friday my car will idel back and forth between 1000 and 3500 rpm's. It does this when it hasn't been ran for awhile and goes away after bout 2-3 minutes...any suggestions on what to look check out? THanks

as far as i know this is normal mine does it as well.
when the engine heats up idle drops to normal.
i would suggest not driving when the engine is that cold. if you have to keep it below 4000rpm until it heats up. :D

im in alaska and my car idles around 2500 when its cold even when its plugged in so thats pretty normal i guess

When its cold out ALL engines idle higher. Not a problem unless it still idles high when its warmer out.
