Carbon Fiber Hood Install

Will I need any kind of drilling to install one on a 2000 civic?
And i was wondering if hood pins are neccessary. My friend tells me that they keep your hood from flopping up when going high speeds and I cruise at 90 on the free way to work. Just wondering if it's needed.
And if I do need them, can someone send me to a site that will give me dtailed istructions on how to do it?

As for drilling the windshield wiper squirters, should i start with a small hole and work my way up? And will i need any sealant of any kind to keep water out.
Or can you tell me how to take it off all together? I don't mind drilling the holes for the hood pins, but for those little squirters Im not so sure. When I mean disconnect, I was gonna have it so that when you pull back on the windshiled wiper lever, water wont go shooting around my engine.
-Thanks-

Most hoods wil require the use of pins. I have a Fiber Images and put some hood pins on just to be on the safe side. Do yourself a favor, and get hood pins that drill onto the hood. I went through 3 pairs of the unlocking ones. 2x they were stolen, the last time 1 of the pins was loose and flew off while I was driving (not the stud, just the pin). I have momo hoodpins on now, does wonders for the high speed stability. Got them off ebay for ~$30. As for the squirters, I didnt bother to drill holes for them. Although I do know some hood come with the holes already in them (I think the spoon hood does). Start out small, and drill larger if needed, and dont worry about the sealing, as long as the hole isnt too big, you should be set.
I've been wondering, can anyone just pop your c.f. hood then? or do you still pop it from inside the car first, then undo the hood pins?

If it comes with a latch (most do) than you still have to pop it from the inside.
on mine...

on my c/f hood,, I had to drill the holes for the hood stand,, thats all.. it just bolts on.. real easy.. windshield squirters,, I didnt bother,, I took all my stuff out,, squirter fluid bottle, all the hoses etc.. I also got hood pins.. when I was going 80ish,, I could see the corners lifting up.. so I would get them.. they look cool too.. so just to be safe.. I have the latch still on my hood,, so I close it the normal way,, then put the pins in.. its like an extra precaution...

Good call, when I got mine installed, I lost my windshield wipers.
i think i like em best up front on the nose of the car. does anyone know if the fiber images hoods come uv protected or if they should be clear coated for uv protection?
how about on an EG? where can i place my hood pins? i should be getting the hood either monday or tuesday. where should they be placed for the best safety?
hood pins just hold the hood down, as long as they are on the front of the hood, it will be plenty safe. On another note...I've had Fiber Images hoods and I've had no problems going fast without my hood flying up. If you want to be sure, get the pins.

Where can I get good lockable hood pins ?

actually first you should unlock the hood pins THEN pop the hood latch...if you don't you can damage the hood where the pins are installed or after time rip the pins out(likelihood of happening is small but why take the chance)

BTW i have FiberImages CF Hood and i put hood pins on to be safe......i am going to paint them black this season so they blend in better.

well I'll be damned :D

I thought hood pins were for easy access of opening your hood?
it's to keep your lightweight (16-18 pound) hood from flying away. considering the stock hood weighs about 60 pounds it's not going anywhere lol.
