Hey what's up, I was just wondering if it's possible to paint a carbon fiber hood. I want the weight advantage of the carbon fiber hood, but I want it to look like a stock hood. Anyone know of a painted carbon fiber hood?

yes you can, a lot of people do this. i would prefer a CF hood just CF though. it looks bad ass on white civics
but, yeah, the answer is yes you can.

Alright thats good, the only problem is now, is finding a real carbon fiber hood for a good price. The one I want is made by a company called Benen, but it cost $700! That seems a bit much for a hood, but it only weighs 9lbs vs. 30lbs for the stock hood. Anyone know where I can find a genuine carbon fiber hood for a decent price?

The sad thing is, is that most hoods out there are just fiberglass with a carbon fiber sheet over the fiberglass. Still, they are lightweight, but not as durable. I'm not sure, but fiberimages hoods might be full carbon fiber, dont quote me on that. I know that in the SCC magazine, theres a hood they put on the 5g civic that was full carbon fiber. But like you said earlier, the price will probably kick you in the ass!!

the hood they used in scc is the benen and it is all carbon fiber with kevlar?? but it is costy.
