I know that cast is what many wheels are made from. And forged is for people who have lots of money to throw around. Thats why many japanese wheels are forged. But what I want to know is will forged be strong enough for daily use? What if I hit a medium sized pot hole? Will it bend? I'm thinking of getting the 5 zigen

Forged wheels are stronger and lighter than cast. Magnesium is even moreso lighter/stronger and much more expensive. If you hit a hole and your tire does't protect the rim, it'll chip or bend it no matter what. Less so on a forged wheel.
