You can buy those at PEP Boys for under $20/pair. They do rust however. I have a pair and take them off in the winter (blasted salt!!). If they get stuck - simply twist them off with a pair of vice grips - no problem.
Not sure which ones you saw at PepBoys, but they're on my car and they're not too long. But you're right - they do rust. I just wipe the rust off every few weeks Not the ideal situation but they look good.
