I think the Sentra SE has 140HP. A Civic EX, the new ones anyway, are 135HP. I think the Civic would win. My brother owns a GXE Sentra and it has no balls.

Why is it that other makes of DOHC engines can never be comparable to Honda DOHC engines? I mean even without Vtec, honda engines still produces higher output even comparable to higher CC engines of other makes... They all run same concepts, cylinders, pistons... etc.... so what makes the difference?

it all has to do with quality, better fuel system, higher compression ratio, piston, valves, timing, spark, weight to power ratio, and the big ass H on the valve cover.:D Mosty other car are shit, because they want to save money or make them more economical. Any 4 banger with the right stuff can kick ass.

the new civics have 127 hp @ 6300 and 114ft-lbs @ 4800. Thats what makes the new ones so quick. Torque down low, where the 6th gens make peak torque like right before redline 6800 rpm i believe. i-vtec helps a lot with the newer civics. You should beat the sentra, i raced my friends and kicked his ass. as for the tacoma which one? the4 or 6? the 4's are weak as anything but i'm not to sure of the 6's... but they are trucks with towing gears so you should beat that too. I doubt you could beat the TRD, maybe hang with it they have a nice big v8 in those. and as for the cavalier... you should beat it, one had a 1 car head start with no passengers in the car and i had half a tank of gas and two other people in the car and i pulled ahead of him midway through 4th gear. And his was a stick.

but this is what it looks like at the moment

145hp stock... and they go for ~$3.5k. what a deal.
