I've had my AEM Short Ram Intake system w/ the red filter attatched for about 2-3 months, and I have stumbled upon a few general maintanence questions:

1. How often should I clean the filter?
(I was told I need to wash it w/ soap and water, and let it sit for the whole day to allow it to fully dry, then spray it with oil. B/c if I don't let it dry completley the oil will not lubricate itself to the filter as good as it really should when its dry)

2. In order to clean the intake, I buy one of those filter cleaning kits @ any performance shop, correct?

3. Any other comments/suggestions...

Just clean it when it looks dirty.

And yes K&N cleaning kits are what you use.

BTW don't over-oil the filter....my psycho friend always saturates the damn filter in oil and I can't help but think it restricts airflow quite a bit...and wastes the damn oil
