Ok, I think this would probably be your best bet using the Si transmission. Get a '89 - 91 transmission, '90+ Si flywheel and clutch for the '90+ Si. I am fairly certain that you can do this, but not 100%. This is the setup I am planning on running once my clutch dies, so someone correct me if I am wrong.

the 88 tranny is the only one that u shouldnt get its 21 spline and teh others are 20. the 90-91 si had a bigger clutch disc and flywheel so its like bigger brakes more surface area means better grip. the light weight flywheel for the 90-91 will be best and a act 6 puck is nice if u dotn mind teh harshness of it. or just get a stage 2 clucth disc. if u cant deal with instant engagement.

What evryone else said about the clutch setups is correct. As for the flywheel, if you have a machine that knows what they are doing, you can have the factory ZC flywheel lightened by about 3-4 lbs without affecting driveablity. Just remeber they have to balance the flywheel again once material is removed. I had mine done for around $130 (lightening, balancing, and resurfacing) by a machine shop that works on race cars (import and domestic). If you don't feel comfortable with your local machine shops, just purchase the correct year aftermarket lightened one......

problem with my dohc zc

I INSTALLED THE DOHC ZC IN MY 1990 HATCH DX WITH AN SI TRANNY, BUT THE STARTER WONT MAKE ANY CONTACT WITH THE FLYWHEEL. I READ IN THIS FORUM THAT I NEED TO USE MY STOCK FLYWHEEL AND CLUTCH FROM MY STOCK ENGINE (CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG). AND CAN I JUST USE MY D15B FLYWHEEL AND ASSEMBLY AND MY ZC CLUTCH, AND HOW CAN I IDENTIFY MY ENGINE. ITS A RED TOP AND IT SAYS HONDA ON THE INTAKE SIDE?
