question. will an ecu from a 92 civic (manual) work with a 96 civic (automatic) i know i need the jumper cable and i'm working on that. the reason for my question is that automatics have a second computer for the transmission. so will it work or not

I NEED TO KNOW ASAP.

i don't think they have a second computer for the tranny, but sure it will work. Don't think i'm wrong...
i found out that the 96 civic only has one computer so it won't work as far as i've been told. a new one will cost 743 bucks
so if anyone has a 96 automatic computer or even a 92-95 automatic computer. please let me know
auto ecu's don't have a "second computer", they're just programmed differently so it knows when to shift.
no junk yard in town has a wrecked automatic civic
i'm getting rid of the car this weekend so it will benefit me tojust not sink anymore money into it.

well your gonna need the ecu to be able to drive the car so might as well buy one. you need an auto ecu, no way a manual one will work. try partstrader or ebay or something.
some automatics do have a second computer....i swappes an ls b18b auto into my 5th gen hatch and it had to rewire the shift control module.
i found out awhile ago that it was my alternator. i'm a dumbass. forgive me. yeah so, all i need now is a speed sensor so my tranny will shift right
