aye. umm tires sizes come in ##/##-##. what im confused is. waht does the profile number (middle number) explain/describe? the first set of numbers is width and last is rim size. i know what they explain but i dont know what the middle set explains. and what is the difference between YR/HR/WR/ZR. for instance...example: 205/50WR16

The profile number is a percent of the first number (width, or footprint of the tire). So for Example, a 225/40/18 tires profile would be 40% of 225. So if you went with a slightly wider tire, say 235/40/18 then it would be 40% of 235. Hope that helps.

Y, W, Z, etc. are speed ratings-Im sure if you look around you will find a chart in this forum explaining that.
